An original deck plan

On deck as well as inside, the Wauquiez 55 offers an unmatchedlayout, focusing on simplicity, space and well-being, in total safety. •Her deck plan offers three distinct areas, each with a dedicatedvocation: •The navigation space welcomes all manoeuvres and the helmstation, and enables the captain to stay in touch with the rest of the crew. With a 360° vision on the marine environment, and a direct access to the saloon. When mooring, this space becomes a living and sharing area. •The relaxation space, as a natural extension of the cockpit, featurestwo generous sun beds that can be turned into sofas. One couldlounge around, read a book, watch the stars, no to mention the sunset. •The plaisance space, close to waterline, full-beam, is a privilegedarea to prepare a swimming session, get sun-dried, splash the water toys, scuba-dive or snorkel around. Of […]

Power at the fingertips…

The Sail Area over Displacement (SA/D) ratio of the Wauquiez 55 is simplythe most flattering of the 55-footer market as per now.  Her close-hauled sail area combined with a controlled displacement and her hull shape together guarantee an agile and fast sailing yacht, in total consistency with blue water cruising requirements. This audacious hull design, with its native form stability, meansabove average cruising speeds, and outstanding light air sailingperformance (up to 200NM per day).  She will basically sail when others are motoring. Sensation-seekers will enjoy being at the helm, spoiled by her speed, and will overpass every other yacht on the water, making it first at destination.  This power is made accessible and is totally mastered by numerouselectrical and hydraulic assistance systems, as well as per her optimised deck plan: all manoeuvres are within reach and trimming done by the fingertips.  A swinging keel is also available as an option, and will increase the rightingmoment, providing additional power together with a more efficient and smoother motion in heavy seas. Last, this option also reduces the draft at mooring.
